Lexington, Ky. – University of Kentucky sophomore diver Mario Rodriguez finished in third-place on the platform at the Indiana Invitational today, Sunday, Nov. 24. The Mexico City, Mexico, native scored a 453.30 as UK’s only entry in the event. Senior All-American Clayton Moss sat out the platform with an injury after finishing second in the one-meter springboard and third in the three-meter earlier in the weekend.
Michelle Brown, a junior diver for the Cats, finished in fifth-place for the women. Brown tallied a score of 362.50. Freshman Jessica Thompson, who finished second in the three-meter board and fifth in the one-meter, finished in eighth-place on the platform with a 336.05.
The UK diving teams will be back in action on Sat., Dec. 7, when they join the swimming teams to host a dual meet against Missouri. The swimming teams come off a weekend in which they finished in the top-six at the Nike Cup Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Missouri meet is slated for an 11 a.m. start at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on the UK campus.
