Final Score: #17 LSU 33, Kentucky 30

Records: LSU 7-2, 4-1 SEC; Kentucky 6-4, 2-4 SEC

Kentucky has now held the lead in the second half in all 10 games this season.

This marks the second consecutive year that LSU has beaten the Wildcats in Commonwealth Stadium in the closing seconds. In 2001, LSU’s Rohan Davey hit Michael Clayton with a 6-yard TD pass with 13 seconds remaining for a 29-25 victory.

Kentucky is now 1-3 versus ranked opponents this season.

The Wildcats blocked two Tiger kicks and now have a league-leading seven blocked kicks this season. In the first quarter, Jeremy Caudill blocked John Corbello’s 45-yard FG attempt. It was Caudill’s second blocked kick of the season. He registered a blocked extra point against Florida earlier in the season. In the third quarter, Deion Holts blocked Donnie Jones’ punt. This season, UK has two blocked two field goals, two extra points and three punts.

Artose Pinner, the SEC’s leading rusher, needed four yards entering the game to top 1,000 this season and he earned the yardage on the Wildcats’ 98-yard drive in the first quarter. He became the fifth Wildcat to top the 1,000-yard mark in a season. He joined Moe Williams (1,600 yards in ’95), Mark Higgs (1,278 in ’87), George Adams (1,085 in 1984), and Sonny Collins, who accomplished the feat twice (1,213 yards in ’73 and 1,150 yards in ’75).

With 27 carries for 143 yards, Pinner topped 100 yards in a game for the seventh time this season, the 10th time in his career. He tied the UK single-season record of seven 100-yard rushing games set by Moe Williams in 1995.

Pinner’s 143 yards is the first time LSU has given up 100 yards rushing to a single player this season.

Pinner moved from a tie for 10th place to fifth place on the UK career rushing list. He now has 1,830 yards in his career. He moved past Derek Homer, Rodger Bird, Anthony White, Derrick Ramsey, and Marc Logan.

Chase Harp’s 3-yard TD reception in the third quarter was his third TD of the season. He has 10 catches this season.

WR Aaron Boone caught three TD receptions against LSU, his first multi-TD game of the season. It marked the fourth consecutive game he’s caught a TD and the eighth time in 10 games. He now has 15 TD receptions in his career.

Boone’s 112 yards is a season high and his third 100-yard game of the year. He is the only Wildcat to gain over 100 yards receiving this season.

QB Jared Lorenzen has thrown for a TD in every game this season. He was 12 for 26 with 210 yards and four TDs. With 11yards rushing, he’s just one yard shy of the school record for most yards total offense. Tim Couch holds the record for total offensive yardage in a career with 8,160. Lorenzen extended his school-record string of consecutive passes without interception to 148. It is the eighth longest streak in SEC history.

LSU punter Donnie Jones registered an 86-yard punt in the first quarter which marked the longest opponent punt in UK history, the longest in Commonwealth Stadium history, an LSU school record and the sixth longest in SEC history.

The Wildcats’ 98 yard drive in the first quarter was the longest for the Cats this season and equals the longest in the SEC this season.
