SEC Standings and Bracket

The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team has earned the No. 6 seed in the Southeastern Conference Tournament and will play No. 3 Mississippi in front of the home crowd at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium Thursday. Match time between the Wildcats (10-7-0/4-4-0 SEC) and Rebels (13-3-2/5-3-1 SEC) is slated for 8:30 p.m. ET.

“I think getting the sixth seed puts us in a good position to right some of our wrongs against teams that we faced in the regular season,” Coach Warren Lipka said. “We’re playing our best soccer that we’ve played all year. I think our team will be up for the challenge in facing Ole Miss in front of their home crowd.”

UK owns a 5-1-0 overall series lead over Ole Miss, including a 4-1 win in the SEC Tournament in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Nov. 5, 1998. The Rebels claimed victory for the first time against the Cats this season – a 1-0 result at the UK Soccer Complex on Oct. 18.
