Men's Golf

After having what would have been their final fall tournament washed out by rain in Louisiana, the Kentucky men’s golf team will finish the fall season at Gulf Shores, Ala., in the Fall Beach Classic, played host by South Alabama.

Sophomore transfer Brandon Waldrop, who won last year’s tournament as a member of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, will have a chance to defend his title.

The Wildcats finished their last tournament three weeks ago, the Gary Koch/Cleveland Golf Invitational, in second place with a strong chance to win before play was stopped, due to weather, in the third round.

“I feel really confident going into this tournament,” Coach Brian Craig said. “We played very strong in our last tournament and we have a good chance to win this one.”

The tournament will be played at the Par-72, 6,536-yard Gulf Shores Golf Club. The first two rounds will be played on Monday, Nov. 4, and the third round will be played on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Included in the 13-team field will be Central Florida, Tulane, Western Kentucky and Southern Mississippi.
