Oct. 9, 2002
Lexington, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will kick off their 2002-03 season with the annual Blue-White intersquad meet on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 4:00 p.m. The meet will take place at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on the UK campus. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
The teams come off a 2001-02 season that saw the men place a school-best 16th at the NCAA Championships and the women place 41st. Senior diver Clayton Moss returns from a junior season that saw him named All-America on all three boards, becoming the first UK diver to accomplish the feat in the same season. The Doerun, Ga., native has won gold on the one-meter board at the SEC Championships the last two seasons and was runner-up on that board at last season’s NCAA’s.
The exhibition is in preparation of the season-opening Kentucky Relay Meet, which will take place on Sat., Oct. 19, at the Lancaster Aquatic Center.
