LEXINGTON, Ky. – After a two-week break, the University of Kentucky cross country teams will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Gainesville, Fla., as the Wildcats participate in the Florida Gator Invitational on the UF Golf Course. The women’s 6K begins at 8 a.m. ET, while the men’s 8K gets underway at 8:45 a.m.

There will be 251 women competing and 264 men from 23 women’s teams and 25 men’s teams. In total, more than 1,700 athletes will be competing in the six high school and college races. It is the first of two collegiate races on the course this season as Florida will host the 2002 Southeastern Conference Championship in November.
