LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky volleyball match against Mississippi State originally scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 3 in Lexington, Ky., has been moved to Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. after Fox Sports Net South selected the event for live television coverage. To accommodate television, UK’s original Friday match against Ole Miss has been moved to Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m.

The coverage, announced Tuesday by the Southeastern Conference office, marks the Wildcats’ first appearance on live television since the 2000 season, a 3-1 win over border rival Tennessee on SEC-TV. The match could have important bearing on the 2002 SEC Tournament as it comes during UK’s final home weekend of league play. UK is 26-1 all-time against the Bulldogs, with its only loss coming on Oct. 16, 1994, a 3-2 defeat in Starkville.

UK opens its 2002 schedule on Sunday, Aug. 25 with its annual Blue-White scrimmage. The intrasquad match begins at 2 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum. The Cats then depart for Hempstead, N.Y., for the Hofstra Invitational, Aug. 30-31.
