AUSTIN, Texas – University of Kentucky freshman Trisha Tumlinson finished 31st in the one-meter diving competition as action started at the 2002 Women’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on the campus of the University of Texas on Thursday, March 21.

Competing in her first NCAA championship event, Tumlinson scored a 226.95 in the preliminary round, eliminating her from the nighttime finals competition. She was 26.7 points away from finishing in the top 16, which would have given her a chance to score points for UK in the evening session.

Tumlinson will return to the pool deck on Friday as the women’s three-meter springboard competition is contested. The preliminary round will begin at 1 p.m. CT with finals starting at 7 p.m. CT. Results can be obtained as they happen on the Internet at www.TexasSports.com.
