Lexington, KY – The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team (8-19, 1-13 Southeastern Conference) will face Mississippi State (18-10, 8-6 SEC) in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday, Feb. 28 in Nashville, Tenn. Game-time is slated for 7 p.m. ET at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.

The winner will meet fourth-seeded LSU on Friday, March 1 in the second round at 7 p.m. ET.

The Wildcats fell to the Lady Bulldogs in regular season play, 59-54, in Lexington. MSU, who is not ranked in the national polls, upset No. 16/15 Florida on Sunday in Starkville, 83-63, to gain the No. 5 seed in the tournament. MSU’s LaToya Thomas, the nation’s No. 2 scorer, led the upset with 40 points and 14 rebounds.
