LEXINGTON, Ky. – Seven University of Kentucky track and field athletes are ranked nationally this week in the NCAA’s Proof of Performance rankings. Beth Heimann has the highest ranking, earning a third-place spot in the women’s 800 meters with her time of 2:05.32 at the SEC East Championships on Jan. 26.

Sophomore Hunter Spencer is ranked in two events, with a seventh-place standing in the men’s mile (4:01.83), while his time of 1:49.57 in the 800 meters ranks eighth behind teammate Chad Johnson’s seventh-place time of 1:49.53.

Simidele Adeagbo’s jump of 42-01.50 in the triple jump at the Kentucky Invitational in January ranks ninth. Thomas Morgan is ranked 20th in the men’s 3000 meters after a 8:08.15 showing at the Tyson Invitational last weekend.

Rounding out UK’s rankings are sophomore Jeff Chakouian, who is fifth in the men’s shot put after an automatic-qualifying toss of 65-06.75 at the Kentucky Invitational, and Aisha Smith, who earned the 36th-place ranking in the women’s weight throw with her throw of 59-03.50 at the SEC East Championships.

The Wildcats return to action on Friday, Feb. 8 at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.
