BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Four University of Kentucky volleyball players were named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll, league commissioner Roy Kramer announced on Monday, Nov. 12.

Senior April Barnhorst and junior Liz McCaslin were the two current Wildcats on the list, while graduates Stacey Wallace and Megan Weiskircher also were recognized. The award is given based on the 2000-01 academic year and goes to athletes with at least a 3.0 GPA in the past year or in their career.

It was the third consecutive honor for Barnhorst, a marketing major who will complete her degree in December, a semester early. Barnhorst has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA in college and was named to the Verizon All-District team in 2000.

McCaslin, a marketing major, earned the honor for the second time after posting a 3.56 GPA. She has missed most of the 2001 season with a bulging disk in her back, but should return to the team next season.
