Kentucky sophomore quarterback Jared Lorenzen was named National Player of the Week by ESPN.com following his standout performance last Saturday at Vanderbilt.
Lorenzen completed 26 of 37 passes for 453 yards, six touchdowns, and no interceptions in UK’s 56-30 win over the Commodores. Lorenzen also had five rushes for a net of 32 yards, giving him 485 yards total offense for the day.
The game marks Lorenzen’s third consecutive 300-yard passing performance and the 11th 300-yard game of his career. It is his second 400-yard passing game of his career. The six touchdowns is a career high.
With 485 yards total offense in 42 plays, Lorenzen averaged 11.5 yards per play – a Southeastern Conference record for a game between SEC teams.
