AUBURN, Ala. – The University of Kentucky cross country teams found many things to celebrate on Monday, Oct. 29, at the 2001 SEC Cross Country Championships at the Indian Pines Golf Course in Auburn, Ala. Sophomore Caitlin Phillips finished eighth for the women with a time of 19:56.67, while junior Thomas Morgan took ninth place for the men with a time of 24:42.88. The men finished in fifth at the championship, while the women took 10th.Also finishing well in the men’s 8k run was junior Hunter Spencer, whose time of 24:59.36 was good enough for 14th place. For the fourth consecutive year both Arkansas’ men’s and women’s teams won the SEC Championship. It was the 11th-consecutive SEC title for the Razorback men who had five of the top eight finishers in the 8,000-meter race.
