STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — Jesse Witten, a freshman on the University of Kentucky men’s tennis team, advanced to the third round at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s All-American Championships on Thursday, October 11.

Witten began in the first round with a dominating 6-3, 6-1 win over Wisconsin’s Danny Westerman. In second round action, Witten struggled in the first set against Balazs Veress of California dropping 2-6. Witten came back in the second set to win 7-5 and then overpowered Veress in the third set, 6-0, to secure a slot in the round of 16.

Witten continues in action on Friday, October 12. The first match is set to begin at 9 a.m. at the Lincoln Tennis Center.
