– The University of Kentucky men’s tennis team advanced in singles play of the Louisville Invitational at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville, Ky.

Senior Gustav Pousette defeated Louisville’s Sebastian Aspillaga in two thrilling sets at 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinal round. In doubles action, the duo of Rahim Esmail and Pousette was defeated by Alex Siversten and Matt Mayer of Louisville, 9-7, in the second round.

The final rounds of the Invitational are set to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
