Senior midfielder Susie Ledzianowski was named to the Soccerbuzz Magazine “Elite Team of the Week,” the publication announced today.
The Mentor, Ohio native has scored four goals in as many games and leads UK in goals (five) and points (11). Ledzianowski, voted one of three team captains for the 2001 season (Aimee Brown and Annie Gage), has led Kentucky to its first top 10 ranking of the season. In this week’s Soccerbuzz.com Top 25, the Wildcats moved up five spots to claim the No. 10 slot, while the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Coaches Poll ranked UK at No. 12, tied with Florida State.
Kentucky will be in action this weekend at the UK Soccer Complex as it plays host to the Traditional Bank Invitational. On Friday, Sept. 28, Furman will play New Mexico at 5 p.m. and the Sun Devils of Arizona State will battle the Cats at 7 p.m. The tournament resumes on Sunday, Sept. 30, as Furman plays Arizona State at 11 a.m. and UK faces New Mexico at 1 p.m.
