University of Kentucky junior center fielder Beth Fogle has been named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week. She receives the honor after helping lead the Wildcats take two of three games from the visiting Auburn Tigers last weekend.
Fogle batted .714 on the week and .875 versus Auburn, as UK took a major step toward earning a berth to the SEC tournament. The Bogart, Ga. native totaled one triple, two RBI, two stolen bases and four runs scored.
Fogle scored the game-winning run with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning in game three of the Auburn series.
The Cats (26-30, 9-16 SEC) travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for a three-game series with the Lady Razorbacks beginning Saturday, May 5.
