media__sports_w-golf_SECgolf-1437505634331.jpg The University of Kentucky women’s golf team will begin postseason action this weekend, April 20-22, at the2001 Southeastern Conference Championships in Gainesville, Fla. The tournament, which will be played on theUniversity of Florida Golf Course, will consist of three 18-hole rounds, with the first-place finisher being named 2001SEC Champions.

In correlation with the tournament, the SEC office announced this year’s Academic Honor Roll. Kentucky landedthree members on the list, including senior Jenny Throgmorton and juniors Towa Okiyama and Kristen Pepe. To benamed to the list, a student-athlete must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or for the 1999-00 academic year, be asophomore or high in academic standing for the 1999-00 year and have 24 hours toward a degree.

Kentucky is coming off of a 10th-place finish at the Bryan National Collegiate tournament two weeks ago.Okiyama led the way for UK with a 28th-place 226. Sophomore Rachel Lester leads the Kats on the season with a77.22 stroke average after competing in six tournaments.

Action gets underway on Friday morning at 8 a.m.
