The Kentucky softball team travels to Starkville, Miss. for a three-gameSoutheastern Conference series starting Saturday, April 7, at the Bulldog Diamond. Theseries gets underway with a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. and will conclude with asingle game on Sunday, April 1 at 1 p.m.

“Mississippi State is one of the hottest teams in the SEC right now,” UK coachBeth Kirchner said. “We will have to be ready to play.”

UK (17-21, 4-9 SEC) dropped three in a row to the third-ranked Alabama CrimsonTide in Tuscaloosa last weekend. Junior shortstop Angie Dal Pozzo leads the team at the plate with a .336 battingaverage and five home runs. Senior Leslie Kwiatkowski is hitting .331 and hasrecorded 11 doubles to pace the Wildcats. Sophomore Morgan Marr leads the Wildcatpitching staff with 11 wins on the season and an ERA of 2.76.
