Women's Tennis

The 22nd-ranked University of Kentucky women’s tennis team fell to the defending national champion andthird-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (14-1, 7-0 SEC) on Friday, March 30, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex inAthens, Ga. The Wildcats (10-7, 4-4 SEC) got victories from sophomores Sarah Witten and Amy Trefethen,but fell short in the 5-2 decision.

Witten upset 64th-ranked Lori Grey to aid her bid to break into the singles rankings, while Trefethen stayedsteady and the No. 6 position with her win over Alexandra Smith.

The Cats will return to the courts on Sunday, April 1, when they take on the 23rd-ranked South CarolinaGamecocks in Columbia, S.C.
