Swimming & Diving

The 21st-ranked University of Kentucky men’s swimming and diving team competed in the first day of the men’s NCAA Championship today. Kentucky is currently in 16th place.

Clayton Moss took fourth place in one-meter diving, edged out of the money by Indiana’s Thomas Davidson. Aaron Kirkpatrick finished 27th on the one-meter. The 400 freestyle relay qualified for finals and placed 14th in the event. In the 500 freestyle, Macon White finished 22nd as David Tweedie placed 30th. Finally, in the 50 freestyle, Shaun Zitani took 25th and Aaron Workman finished 41st.

In tomorrow’s session at Texas A&M’s Student Rec Center, Zitani will look to qualify for finals in the 100 butterfly. White and Tweedie will compete in the 200 freestyle, while Roger Watkins will swim the 100 breaststroke.

Kirkpatrick and Moss will dive on the three-meter boards.
