Los Angeles Dodger Hall of Fame Coach Tommy Lasorda was on hand to speak at a University of Kentucky baseball fundraiser on Wednesday, February 21, at Rupp Arena, prior to the UK-LSU basketball game.

Lasorda, who managed the Dodgers for 20 seasons, was invited on behalf of the UK baseball program to emphasize the importance of renovating the current UK baseball stadium. UK’s goal is to raise $2.5 million to renovate Cliff Hagan Stadium.

Lasorda’s most recent baseball achievement was when he guided the U.S Olympic Baseball Team to a gold medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Australia.
