The University of Kentucky (1-4, 0-0 SEC) will participate in the University of Arizona Tournament in Tucson, Ariz., from Friday, Feb. 16, to Sunday, Feb. 18. The Wildcats are coming off an appearance at the University of Texas-Arlington Tournament, where they won one game and dropped four.
“We are excited to get out in the dirt again this weekend to compete,” UK coach Beth Kirchner said. “The tournament is filled with quality teams, so it will be great for us.”
The Cats will first face New Mexico State University at 9 a.m. MT, followed by a game against University of Pacific at 11 a.m. MT. On Saturday, Kentucky will face Bowling Green State and Arizona, while on Sunday, the Wildcats will take on Oklahoma State. The Arizona Wildcats are 10-0 and have not allowed a run all season.
This is Kentuckys second appearance at the Arizona Tournament. Last season, the Wildcats went 1-4 at the Arizona Tournament.
