Women’s cross country takes home 12th place.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 30, 1999) — The University of Kentuckymen’s cross country team placed sixth in the 1999SEC Cross Country Championships on Saturday inNashville, Tenn. The women finished 12th.
Five freshmen competed in the race for Kentuckywith Hunter Spencer once again leading the Cats,followed very closely by teammate ThomasMorgan. Spencer finished 29th with a time of26:26.1, his second fastest time this season.Morgan came in 30th, finishing just five-tenths of asecond behind Spencer.
Other UK men finishers include Kevin O’Connor(39th), Nate Hensley (43rd) and Kevin Panke(58th).
In women’s action, junior Liz Attig led the Wildcatpack, finishing 45th with a time of 19:33.7.Freshman Marie Patton finished 56th with a time of20:08.0.
Team Arkansas won both the men and women’s titles this year. This was the25th consecutive conference title for the Razorback men.
