(Oct. 29, 2000) — The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team was defeated by Indiana University, 3-1, on October 29, in Bloomington, Ind. Indiana improves to 4-2 in the series.
Kentucky (14-5, 6-3 SEC) was able to find the goal in the 22nd minute as Annie Gage scored off a penalty kick. The goal tied the game, but the relief was short-lived as the Hoosiers came back to score the game-winner in the 24th minute. Kelly Kram scored the goal off passes from Kate Kastl and Kristen Sprunger.
Indiana (8-9-1) began the scoring in the 10th minute as Stacey Peterson recorded a goal. Assisting were Kate Kastl and Jena Kluska. The Hoosiers capped off the game with a third goal in the 40th minute as Jenny Mann scored an unassisted goal.
The Wildcats will participate in the SEC Championship tournament as the fourth seed facing LSU on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 2:30 p.m. ET. The tournament will be held in Athens, Ga., at the Georgia Women’s Soccer Stadium.
