The University of Kentucky rifle team will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, on Sunday, Oct. 22, to participate in the 2000 Mid-American RifleConference vs. Ohio Valley Conference Invitational.

The Wildcats are coming off of a strong performance last weekend against Ohio State. Kentucky skimmed by the Buckeyes, 6162-6038, andrelied on a strong 4614 smallbore performance to take the win. The Cats were led by freshman Brandon Wheeldon, who took first place in both airrifle and smallbore to win the meet. It was Wheeldon’s first collegiate performance.

This Sunday’s match is the first road trip for the young squad, which is comprised of four freshmen, two sophomores, one junior and onesenior. Sophomore Crystal Hamilton and senior Taryn Lewis are the Cats’ top returners from the 1999-2000 season.
