The University of Kentucky women’s golf team will participate in the fourth annual Mercedes-Benz Women’s Collegiate Championships this weekend, Oct. 13-15, in Knoxville, Tenn. The tournament, which will be played at the Gettysvue Polo, Golf & Country Club, is hosted by the University of Tennessee.
The Kats are coming off of an impressive showing at the Franklin Street Trust Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C, last weekend, finishing ninth out of 18 participants. Kentucky’s effort was led by sophomore Kelly Anders, whose three-round score of 231 earned her a 16th place finish.
“We’re really excited to get back out on the links after such a great weekend in Chapel Hill,” UK Coach Bettie Lou Evans said. “The Tennessee tournament showcases a lot of the country’s top teams, and we look forward to the chance to compete against the best.”
Play begins on Friday, Oct. 13 at 8:30 a.m. and continues through Sunday, Oct. 15.
