The University of Kentucky men’s golf team finished in13th place at the 2000 Northern Intercollegiate GolfChampionship after two days of competition in Urbana, Ill.The team posted a tournament total of 915. The Wildcatsfinished 26 strokes behind the champion PurdueBoilermakers.
Seniors Wes Furnish and Pat Kelly, along with freshmanMatt Wells all finished with a three-day total of 231 to leadthe Cats, 16 shots off Matt Abbott’s tournament low 215.Other UK scores included junior John Beckett with a 232and Andy Dustman with a 237.
The Wildcats will again see action on Oct. 9, when theyhead to Cincinnati to compete in the Xavier Invitational.
