University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will face off against Utah State on Friday, Sept. 8at 5:30 p.m. at the UK Soccer Complex. This will be the first meeting between the two schools.
Kentucky (3-1, 1-0 SEC) is playing its first game at home after splitting two games at the University ofMinnesota Tournament. The Wildcats finished second in the tournament behind Minnesota and hadJen Reese, Melinda Buemi, and Elizabeth Ramsey named to the All-Tournament team. Kentucky is ontop of the SEC Eastern Division for the second week in a row.
“It is always good to return home after an away weekend,” UK coach Warren Lipka said. “UtahState will be a very organized, very athletic team and will be a good home test after our road trip.”
Utah State (0-2) lost to Iowa, 2-1, Monday, Sept. 8. The Aggies are led by senior Jayme Gordy andsophomore Brigid Turner.
