The Kentucky football freshmen held their first practice Tuesday morning with a with a two-hour and 40 minute (including a half-hour rain delay) workout at Nutter Training Center.
The Wildcat coaching staff is relying on three incoming freshmen to contend at defensive tackle. Daniel Burnett, Jeremy Caudill, and Dewayne Robertson all participated in this morning’s workout.
“Good kidsreally fastvery powerful,” was how defensive tackles coach Tom Adams described the trio. “It’s rare to be around to around a D-lineman that you can truly call fast, but Caudill fits the description. Dewayne Robertson is going be something else when he makes the transition from high school. Burnett is an intense player who plays with a lot of heart.”
“It was good to get it (the workout) out of the way. I was really anxious about it, to see what it’s like. I enjoyed it, it’s a lot of fun,” Burnett said. The freshmen return to the field Wednesday for practices at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.The veterans report Wednesday afternoon. The first practice with the entire team is set for Friday at 10 a.m.
