Freshman Thomas Morgan leads team in NCAA Southeast Regional Meet.
(Nov. 13, 1999) — Three members of the Kentucky cross countryteam competed in the NCAA Southeast RegionQualifier in Greenville, S. C., on Saturday.Freshman Thomas Morgan led the Wildcat runnersfor the first time this season, finishing the10,000-meter race in 83rd place.
Also competing from UK were freshmen HunterSpencer and Kevin O’Connor. Spencer finished in95th place with a time of 32:46 while O’Connor ranthe race in 33:18, finishing 106th.
The men’s teams from North Carolina State andWilliam and Mary will advance to the NCAANational Championships in Bloomington, Ind., onNov. 22. On the women’s side, NorthCarolina-Chapel Hill and North Carolina State willadvance. Neither Kentucky team, men or women,will compete at the NCAA Championships.
