Jeff Ellis finished second in the 400m hurdles at the Drake Relays.

(April 23, 1999) — Jeff Ellis finished in second place in the finals of the 400-meter hurdles at theDrake Relays Saturday. His personal best time of 51.27 provisionallyqualified him for the NCAA Championships on June 2-5 in Boise, Idaho.

Matt Kavanagh finished in second place in the hammer throw with a toss of219 feet, 11 inches. Teammate Jamie Shannon finished 10th in the event witha throw of 182-04.

In the triple jump, Shevan Threats finished in second place with a leap of40-11.

Lutisha Shittu finished in sixth place of the 100-meter hurdle finals with a timeof 14.58. In the preliminaries, she finished first in her heat with a time of13.80.
