(October 17, 1998) — The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team pulledout an overtime win against 23rd-ranked Georgia, 1-0, on Friday night.Although the Cats were outshot 26-7 in regulation, UK forward CarrieStaber scored the game-winning goal three and a half minutes into overtimeto give the Cats the victory.
The loss drops Georgia to 8-4-1, 2-3 in the Southeastern Conference. Thewin gives UK a 6-5-2 record heading into Sunday’s contest againstTennessee. The Vols (8-6, 3-2 SEC) were defeated by No. 8 Vanderbilt,1-0, in their last outing.
