Wildcats’ balanced attack leads to 4-1 win over Ole Miss.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (November 5, 1998) — Four different players scored for the University ofKentucky women’s soccer team as the Cats defeated Ole Miss 4-1 onFriday to advance to the semifinals of the Southeastern ConferenceTournament. Forward Carrie Staber opened the scoring for UK (9-7-3)only four minutes into the match, when she put in a shot off an assist fromSuzie Ledzianowski. Ledzianowksi scored a goal of her own just eightminutes later off a Staber assist.

UK’s next goal came at the 47:52 mark, when midfielder Jen Reese put theCats up 3-0. Sarah Wong put the Rebels (9-7-2) on the board four minuteslater. UK’s Jaime Dellbringge closed out the scoring at the 81:19 mark,giving the Cats the 4-1victory.

“We played one of our best organized matches of the year,” UK coachWarren Lipka said. “We look forward to the next challenge tomorrowafternoon.” The Wildcats now face the fourth-ranked Florida Gators (19-1)at 5 p.m. on Friday in the SEC semifinals. Florida shut out South Carolina6-0 in the first match of the SEC Tournament.
