Kentucky softball player also selected to Midwestern All-Star team.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 8, 2000) — University of Kentucky softballplayer Leslie Kwiatkowski has been named to theGTE Academic All-America softball second team. TheSouth Bend, Ind., native was a second-team GTEAll-District selection in 1999 and first-team All-Districtselection in 2000.

Kwiatkowski, a junior accounting major, broke six UKsingle-season marks this year and earned first-teamAll-Southeastern Conference honors. She was asecond-team All-South Region selection this year.

Kwiatkowski has also been selected to theMidwestern All-Star team that will play an exhibitiongame against the 2000 United States OlympicSoftball Team. The doubleheader will take place onSunday, June 18 in South Bend, Ind.
