Leslie Kwiatkowski, an accounting major, broke six UK single-season softball records this year.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 15, 2000) — University of Kentucky softballplayer Leslie Kwiatkowski has been named to thefirst-team GTE Academic All-District IV UniversityDivision softball team by members of the CollegeSports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)within the district.
Kwiatkowski, a junior majoring in accounting, willappear on the national ballot for the GTE AcademicAll-American along with the other 11 first-teamall-district selections. The South Bend, Ind., nativewas a second-team selection in 1999. She broke sixUK single-season marks this year and earnedfirst-team All-Southeastern Conference honors.
Sophomores Angie Dal Pozzo and Beth Fogle werenamed to the GTE Academic All-Districtsecond-team.
Dal Pozzo, a native of Livingston, Ill., is majoring inpre-physical therapy. Dal Pozzo started in 57 gamesfor the Cats and hit .287 with nine doubles and ahome run.
Majoring in marketing, Fogle hit .315 this season,third best on the team and stole 13 bases, while tyingthe UK single-season mark for sacrifice bunts (11).
