LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky softball team will travel to Oxford, Miss., toface the Ole Miss Rebels on Friday, April 14th. The doubleheader at the OleMiss Softball Complex will begin at 6 p.m. (EST).

“This weekend is very important as we cross division lines and playagainst the West Division of the Southeastern Conference,” UK coach BethKirchner said. “Ole Miss has played a very competitive schedule, and theywill be tough at home.”

UK (25-19, 7-5 SEC) leads the SEC East after earning a split with the18th-ranked South Carolina Lady Gamecocks last weekend. The Cats won theopening game of the four-game series, 1-0 in eight innings, but dropped thenext two games. In the series finale, UK staged a come-from-behind, 6-5victory.

Last season in Lexington, Ky., the Rebels swept the doubleheader,defeating the Cats 3-1 and 10-1.
