AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Kentucky track and field squad finishedcompetition at the Texas Relays with two events on Saturday, April 8.
Giving Kentucky its highest finish of the day, junior Andrew VanderWagenclaimed fourth place in the high jump (section B). VanderWagen’s leap of6-10.75 surpassed by one inch his outdoor seasonal high, which heaccomplished at the Hurricane Classic in March.
In the women’s triple jump (section A), junior Shevan Threats finished inthe eight spot with a jump of 40-02.75, giving Kentucky another top-10 finish.
On Friday night, the dynamic 800-meter quintet of senior Jeff Limpert andfreshmen Chad Johnson, Hunter Spencer, and Thomas Morgan, tried their handsat the distance medley relay. Their time of 9:59.05 was good enough forninth place against strong teams such as Texas A&M and Arkansas.
The Cats return to the track when they visit the University of Tennesseefor the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, April 13-15.
