LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the fourth time this season, the Kentucky men’s tennis team fell to a top-10 opponent, 4-3. The sixth-ranked University of Illinois edged out the Cats at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex on Thursday night, winning the doubles point and three singles matches.
Kentucky’s biggest win of the night came at the No. 1 doubles position, when Johan Hesoun and Edo Bawono defeated 15th-ranked Jeff Laski and Jamal Parker, 8-6.
Carlos Drada (No. 23) had an impressive win over 38th-ranked Laski in singles action, winning in straight sets, 7-6, 6-1.
The Cats (10-10) head out for a two-match road trip this weekend, first playing Mississippi State in Starkville, then traveling to Tuscaloosa on Sunday to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide.
