The University of Kentucky men’s tennis team lost to the Georgia Bulldogs, 7-0, on Friday evening at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center.
Carlos Drada and Reven Stephens defeated Adam Seri and Nicholas Boeker at the No. 3 position, 8-4. The doubles team of Edo Bawono and Johan Hesoun nearly beat Brandon Wagner and Nicholas Boeker, 9-7, at No. 2. At the No. 1 position, the No. 20 doubles team of Matias Boeker and Travis Parrot defeated Kentucky’s Gustav Pousette and Johan Grunditz, 8-3.
In singles action, Drada forced Matias Boeker to three sets, winning the first, but dropping the next two, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 1 position. Playing No. 2, Hesoun also forced three sets against Seri. Hesoun lost the first, but won the second. The two played a super-tiebreaker, where Seri won, 10-4.
The Cats (8-9, 2-3 SEC) will return to action on Sunday against Vanderbilt at 1 p.m. at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex.
