Moss and Knoeber head to Indianapolis for competition.
AUBURN, Ala. (March 11, 2000) — University of Kentucky divers Carrie Knoeber and ClaytonMoss qualified for the 2000 NCAA Men’s & Women’s Swimming and DivingChampionships with strong performances at the NCAA Zone “B” DivingChampionships selection meet on Saturday afternoon.
Knoeber, a native of Raleigh, N.C., qualified for her first NCAAChampionships by placing fourth on the women’s 3-meter event. The juniorset a new personal best with a score of 510.05, the third highest score onthe event in school history. She will compete in the 3-meter competition atthe Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships held March 16-18, at the IUPUINatatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
“I am really excited,” Knoeber said. “I dove really well all weekend, butthis is just an incredible feeling.”
Moss, a freshman from Doerun, Ga., placed fifth on the men’s 1-meter eventwith a score of 509.90, the second highest score in the event by a memberof the UK men’s diving squad. Moss will compete in the 1-meter and 3-meterdiving events at the Men’s NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships held March23-25 in Minneapolis, Minn.
