CAMP FEATURES

Expert instruction from experienced college coaches and players including sessions on recruiting and insights on being a UK student-athlete and mental aspects of softball

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING

Softball cleats, indoor athletic shoes, glove, bat, shorts/sweat pants, t-shirts, athletic socks, catcher’s equipment (if you are a catcher). Overnight campers should bring a pillow, bed sheets, blanket, towels, toiletries, alarm clock, snacks, money for ordering pizza/trip to bookstore.

COST

The cost of the camp is $200 for overnight campers and $150 for commuters with meals or $120 without meals. A group discount is available if 4 or more applications are mailed in together, the fee for overnight is $190 and $140 or $110 for commuters. The deadline for applications to be mailed is May 22 for the June camp and July 10 for the July camp, if the application is mailed after May 22 or July 10 a $10 late fee will be applied and you will not be guaranteed a t-shirt. Both camps have limited space and will be filled on a first come first served basis. On the application form please check if you are able to attend another camp other than the one you have applied for. The cost includes: deposit, three nights lodging, eight meals, tuition fees, excess accident/medical insurance(your insurance will be primary), and camp t-shirt. Either a non-refundable deposit fee of $50 or the full fee must be received with your application. The remaining balance will be due on or before June 5 for the June camp and July 17 for the July camp.

HEALTH INSURANCE/MEDICAL FORM

Due to insurance regulations, a comprehensive health insurance/medical form is required of all campers. This form will be mailed to you upon receipt of your camp payment. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IF THIS FORM IS NOT TURNED IN ON OR BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF THE CAMP.

CAMP SCHEDULE

All campers check in at noon on the first day of camp. At this time all remaining camp fees must be paid and health insurance/medical form turned in or you will not be allowed to participate. A daily schedule will be sent to campers when their deposit/application is received. The camps will end at noon on the last day!

  • Member of 1995 U.S. National Softball Team

UK VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT MARK MONTGOMERY

  • Former head coach Lafayette High School in Lexington compiling a 168-73 record
  • Lafayette won 7 district titles, 5 regional titles and earned 2 state tournament appearances

FORMER AND CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE UK SOFTBALL TEAM

  • Will be present to assist with the camp.

CAMP EMPHASIS

We will emphasize fundamentals, new drills and techniques, game situations, and give you expert instruction from UK coaches and players! We encourage players of all levels to join us for agreat camp experience.

During the week we will try to group campers according to skill and age level to allow you to get the best instruction possible.

Our goal is to have each camper increase their softball knowledge and skills, have fun, and enjoy playing FASTPITCH softball!
