LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Lady Kat golf team will compete in their first tournament of the 2000 spring season, the 28th SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational, this weekend, Feb. 25-27.

Competing for the Lady Kats will be senior Jenny Dugan, junior Jenny Throgmorton, sophomores Towa Okiyama and Kristen Pepe and freshman Marie Allen.

The field of competition includes eleven ranked opponents. Among these are No. 8 Louisiana State, No. 12 Auburn, No. 18 South Carolina, No. 19 Mississippi State, No. 32 Arkansas, No. 34 South Florida, No. 38 Furman, No. 44 Central Florida, No. 48 Alabama, No. 50 Mississippi and host No. 42 Florida. Also competing will be Florida State, Miami and Vanderbilt.

The tournament will take place at the University of Florida Golf Course (yardage: 5,821, par: 72). Tee times begin at 8 a.m. Friday morning.
