The Wildcats capped off a respectable showing at the Southeastern Conference Volleyball Tournament by placing freshman Kristen Batt on the SEC All-Tournament team. Batt received the award on Sunday for her outstanding play in Kentucky?s first round upset of No. 3-seeded South Carolina and her career-best 23 dig performance in UK?s 3-1 semifinal loss to 23rd-ranked and No. 2-seeded Arkansas.

Senior Katie Eiserman was also honored last weekend by being named to the All-SEC Second Team at the tournament?s kickoff banquet.

Batt was instrumental for the No. 6-seeded Cats in their 3-0 sweep of USC on Friday, as she recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 10 kills and a career-best 15 digs. UK had not advanced to the semifinals since 1994. Against Arkansas, Batt played her best defensive game of the season and surpassed her career mark for digs that she had set the day before by notching a new personal record of 23.

After defeating Kentucky (15-14) in the semifinals, Arkansas met No. 4 Florida in the finals, losing in four games. Florida has now won seven of the last eight SEC Tournament Championships.

The Cats will conclude their season next weekend, Nov. 26 and 27, versus Marquette and South Florida, respectively, at Disney?s Wide World of Sports in Orlando Fla.
