TAMPA, Fla. — University of Kentucky men?s golf team finished its fall season onMonday with a 10th place finish at the Gary Koch Invitational after posting afinal-round 301 for a 54-hole total of 906. The tournament, held at the OldMemorial Golf Course, was won by the University of North Florida which recordeda two-day total of 874.
UNF?s Erik Labitzke maintained his opening day lead to win thetournament with a five-under-par 211 (70-69-72).
The highlight of the tournament for Kentucky was the 68 fired by 11thplace finisher Andy Dustman in the first round on Monday. The freshmanpaced theCats in the tourney by shooting a final-round 73 and a four-over-par tournamenttotal of 220.
Ron Layman also finished in the top-half of the playing field as histotal of 225 (74-78-73) placed him in a tie for 28th among the 75 competitors.
Dustman is the only UK golfer to post two sub-70 rounds this season ashe also carded a 69 on Oct. 11 at the Xavier Invitational. Wes Furnish is theonly other Cat to break 70 this fall, shooting a 69 on Oct. 18 at theUniversity of Louisville Intercollegiate.
