LEXINGTON, Kty. – For the second time this season, UK forward Annie Gage has been named tothe Soccer America Team of the Week.

Gage scored three goals, including both game-winners, in the Cats’ twovictories last week. On Friday, she scored the game’s only goal as the Catstopped Cincinnati 1-0. In UK’s 5-2 win over Vanderbilt on Sunday, Gagenailed a penalty kick to give UK a 2-1 lead in the first half and laterbroke a 2-2 tie to give the Cats their school-record ninth consecutive win.In the VU match, she took nine shots, tying the UK record.

The sophomore from Westerville, Ohio, has scored six goals in the Cats’last five games and leads UK (10-2-1, 4-1 SEC) in goals scored with 10 andpoints with 25. She needs just two more goals to tie the UK record forgoals in a season.

Gage was also honored two weeks ago by SA after tallying two goals and anassist in two SEC wins for UK. Only two other Cats, former standout KimLaBelle, UK’s all-time leading scorer, and UK senior Allison Peppers, haveever been named to Soccer America’s Team of the Week

In Soccer America’s weekly top-25 poll, the Cats moved up two spots to17th, while UK ranks 18th in Soccer Buzz and 23rd in Soccer Times.

The Cats’ nine-game win streak is the fourth longest in the country.

UK will play host to the Ole Miss Rebels on Friday, Oct. 15, at the UKSoccer Complex in a televised showdown. Fox Sports South will broadcast thematch with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. Danielle Fotopoulos, a formerAll-American standout at Florida and a member of the 1999 U.S. Women’sWorld Cup Team will be the color analyst along with Dave Neal.
