University of Kentucky goalkeeper Brian O’Leary has been namedMid-American Conference Player of the Week, the MAC office announced Tuesday.

O’Leary, a junior from Lexington, recorded his fourth consecutive shutoutin MAC play on Friday, Oct. 8, and has a 398-minute shutout streak inconference play dating back to the 1998 campaign. O’Leary is tops in theconference and among the national goalkeeping leaders in 1999, posting fiveshutouts and a goals-against average of only 0.62.

O’Leary is UK’s second MAC honoree of the 1999 season. Lee Baker washonored as Player of the Week for Sept. 5-11 after tallying three assistsin one match.

The soccer Cats return to the field Friday, Oct. 15, when they play hostto MAC foe Buffalo at the UK Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
