LEXINGTON, Kty. – The University of Kentucky cross country team will compete in its firstrace of the year at the Woodford Cross Country Trials at Woodford CountyPark in Versailles, Ky., Sept. 4.The women?s two-mile race will begin at 9 a.m., and the men?s 5000-meterrace will begin at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Kentucky and Louisville will alsoparticipate in the meet.

Head Coach Don Weber will begin his 21st year as the cross country coach.He is assisted by second-year assistant coach John Gondak and first-yearassistant coach Gretchen Carlsen.

“This meet is going to give us an opportunity to see where we are early inthe season,” Weber said. “It is more a measure of how summer training wentthan anything. We are anxious to see how things are going so far.”
