LEXINGTON, Kty. – Freshmen Have Two Practices: The Kentucky football freshmenpracticed twice on Wednesday at the Nutter Training Center, one hour and40 minutes in the morning and one hour, 35 minutes in the afternoon.

Defensive coordinator Mike Major has been pleased with what he’sseen from the 12 defensive recruits.

“It’s an outstanding group,” Major said following the afternoonpractice. “They have a lot of speed, great size, and know how to winbecause so many of them played on championship teams. They strive to beperfect and that’s what we looked for when we recruited them.

“They want to play to win, not just play to play.”

The veteran players reported to campus Wednesday afternoon.Media Day and team orientation activities will take place on Thursday.The first team practice is 10 a.m. Friday.

Fans’ Day Slated for Sunday, August 15: The annual UK FootballFans’ Day will be Sunday, August 15, at the Nutter Field House. Thefield house will open at 2 p.m. Free Coca-Cola and hot dogs will begiven away to the first 2,500 fans entering through the service gateentrance facing Alumni Drive. Posters and schedule cards also will begiven away. There will be children’s activities starting at 2 p.m.Players and coaches will be available for autographs and photos from 3-4p.m.

Fans are asked to park on the Alumni Drive side of the NutterField House.
