The Kentucky football freshmen held their first practice with a one and one-half hour workout Tuesdaymorning at Nutter Training Center.
“Our practice today and our two practices tomorrow rehearse thefirst three workouts we have with the veterans. We try to get them (thefreshmen) into a routine,” Coach Hal Mumme said. “Conditioning-wise, wegot through this workout better than the first one last year. That’s areflection on having most of them here during the summer.
“My first impressions of the freshmen … speedy, talented, attentive. I really like their intelligence and speed.
“It’s great to get back on the field. This off-season stuff waswearing me out. It’s hard to play golf for a living,” Mumme joked.
The freshmen return to the field Wednesday for practices at 10a.m. and 3 p.m. The veterans report Wednesday afternoon. The firstpractice with the entire team is Friday.
